What will futbol historians think, when they look back and study Lionel Messi???            They'll delight for days over the goals, the assists, the pure desire and hunger for greatness, the absolute ridiculousness of the goals the team scored together , the complete lack of selfishness, the vicious, clinical calculus of Messi's finishing...but then they'll ask WHY  did he only win 4 UCL titles?            How did that happen? How did Barcelona, who aren't (on the surface) the exact center of dysfunctional hell that is the Argentina national team and Argentine Federation, so why didn't they win more with the world's greatest player of all time, surrounded by top talent? Why didn't they win more?                                      HOW COULD THEY NOT?????????       When they look back, when they study Messi & this Barcelona phenomenon, a handful of names will be bandied about as reasons why they didn't : these will include

Sancho may have saved, or at least jump-started the trajectory of his career with his escape from the doldrums of the Manchester City youth system to the Bundesliga. 10. JADON SANCHO (Dortmund)       We've got a truly original young talent here in Mr. Sancho, only 18 and flying mercilessly high, taking on the Bundesliga with earnest brutality and a cold blooded lust for victory (we even saw the youngster duel with Franck Ribery in a physical tussle all match, only to rip the ball off of him and race towards the Bayern goal. Sancho was key in the creation of the 3rd goal in the 3-2 victory over big time rivals, Bayern Munich...go to 1:28 of the video below to see this)       Sancho has become a wonder under the watchful eyes of Lucien Favre at Dortmund, showing all youth academy products rotting in England's 2nd division (or worse, not even playing) that they should go abroad and show the world what they're capable of, much like Reiss N

Happy 75th Birthday Keith Richards: Study of an Icon (His Ten Greatest Songs, Their Stories, Vibes and Legacy)

Today we celebrate the 75th birthday of the man who defined and created rock and roll...no we don't mean Chuck Berry, no we don't mean whoever the hell else you think, we're talking about the man himself, Keith Richards: Human riff-machine, storyteller and the heart and soul of the Rolling Stones. Without him this band ceases to exist, in any era of their career, which couldn't be said for Brian Jones, or Mick Taylor, Bill Wyman and Ron Wood.         Maybe he didn't create rock and roll, but he definitely created punk attitude: with the Stones 1966 trilogy of "Mother's Little Helper", "19th Nervous Breakdown" and "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby?" upping the ante as the Stones became much more dangerous, realistic and intense than the fearful parents ever imagined.      They then evolved back into their blues roots, taking it further into the cosmos with the unassailable trio of perfect records from 1968's Be
